Shrubby Cinquefoil (Potentilla fruticosa) is a short, easy-to-grow, deer resistant shrub that flourishes in medium, well-drained soil and full sun. It prefers Northern climates, and may struggle in intense humidity and high temperatures. The prolific yellow flowers that bloom in the summer attract bees, butterflies, and other native pollinators. This shrub is great for a butterfly garden or as a low hedge. Any pruning should be completed in late winter.
