Our team is full of passionate plant people ready to help. We respond to each and every message as soon as possible; it may take 2-3 business days for us to get back to you via email. We recommend adding info@directnativeplants.com to your contacts to ensure our responses land in your inbox.

  • Can I come to your nursery to choose and pick up my plants?

Due to zoning restrictions, we cannot have retail traffic.

  • What happens if I receive plants that are dormant?

All of our plants go to “sleep” (become dormant and usually lose all or some of their foliage) during the Fall and Winter. Although their roots can remain active and grow, you won’t see flowers and new leaves until the following Spring. In other words, your plants may arrive looking dead. As long as the ground isn’t frozen, you can still plant, although we recommend waiting until Spring to plant perennials (wildflowers, grasses, and ferns). Their smaller root masses are susceptible to “frost heave” (they pop out of the ground), which can kill them.

NOTE: When ordering during Fall and Winter, you can always request a Spring delivery to help ensure success.

  • Where is the rest of my order?

Different size plants are shipped in separate packages. If your order contains a mixture of perennials, trees, and shrubs, it will come in separate packages. You will receive a confirmation email with tracking information with each package as it is created.
