Tall Anemone (Anemone virginiana) is a native perennial that grows naturally in woodlands, forest edges, prairies, meadows, and fields. White flowers bloom on tall stems in late spring to early summer. In fall, long white hairs attached to seeds form on the thimble-like center, which persists through the winter. Tall Anemone is less aggressive than its counterparts, spreading approximately 1 to 2 feet by rhizomes. It is commonly used in mass plantings and pollinator gardens.
