Spotted Beebalm (Monarda punctata) is a clump-forming member of the mint family that spreads by underground rhizomes, allowing it to gradually form attractive colonies. This perennial can be found naturally in rocky woodlands, coastal plains, and prairies. Its oblong leaves are highly aromatic and can be crushed to use in tea. The showy blooms are a stacked combination of spotted flowers and colorful lavender-white bracts. These blooms support a wide range of pollinators, including hummingbirds, butterflies, and native bees. Spotted beebalm is a larval host for both the Gray Marvel Moth and the Snout Moth.Â
