Northern Maidenhair Fern (Adiantum pedatum) is a clump-forming, deciduous fern found naturally in wooded slopes, ravine bottoms, and damp, shady woods. Its curved stalks feature finely textured, fan-shaped,  light green fronds. In the spring, coiled fiddleheads emerge pink.  It provides excellent ground cover and habitat for small animals such as toads and lizards. Northern Maidenhair Fern prefers partial to full shade and is ideal for a shaded rock garden, or woodland garden.
