Great Blue Lobelia (Lobelia siphilitica) is found naturally in wet areas such as streambanks and swamps, so in the garden it prefers moist, rich soil. Clusters of lavender-blue, tube-like flowers top the stalks of this striking summer-flowering perennial. This plant is clump-forming, and can be divided every 2-3 years to spread throughout your garden or share with friends. Did you know that blue is one of the rarer colors produced by flowers in the wild? Pollinators show a preference for blue flowers, and Great Blue Lobelia is no exception! It attracts bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds with its lavender-blue flowers.
