Dwarf Crested Iris (Iris cristata) is a low-growing perennial with sword-shaped leaves that reach 4-9 inches tall. It thrives in shady woodland areas and rock gardens in partial sun to partial shade with rich, well-drained soil. As long as it receives sufficient water, it can also grow in dry shade and tolerate full sun. The six-petaled flower is pale lavender in color with a striking yellow crest in the center. Dwarf Crested Iris attracts hummingbirds, bumblebees, and other native pollinators, and is highly resistant to damage by deer.
